Will look back over the next few days and see if anyone calls by.
1) ELVs - produced an unexpected kick-a-thon in rugby. So how do you get rid of that? As expected the northern unions have done their best to sabotage these rules which should be forming the basis for much needed change in ru. tests this year have been lame/boring. Last night's win over the Boers was sweet though. A good match for once. 2) RL. If you look in rus thanks for Wayne Bennett is all I can say! Go the Dragons.

I think it's just me & you Bas.
I check in less & less though as there is hardly any action these days.
You on any other sites Bas?
How have the northern unions sabotaged the ELVs?
What do you reckon to 'Bloodgate'?

Haven't visited the site in months really. No, I'm not on any other sites. Just out of interest are there other sites that some of the former posters like Kel and rus go to? By opposing them from the styart and then having them watered down at the start of this season. As it turned out I think they didn't achieve what they set out to do - free up the game more running rugby etc etc. Still have games regularly decided by penalty goals. I didn't expect the amount of kicking to be a sidelight of the elvs though. That took me by suprise. Had to google it. Serves them right from my brief look at it. Went mad last year and applied for a promotion. Am now officially head Teacher History in a country high school west of the Great Dividing Range. Started with the beginning of the school year this year. Ran into two full weeks of temps over 40 degrees C in January!!!! Aaaargh! How's things on the teaching front with you?

I come on here every now and again. I'm also on the rugby league international scores forum/website. I think kier or rus might be on there as well. I was in NZ over the summer. Travelled all over the North Island - BoI, Auckland, New Plymouth, Napier, Rotorua. Ended up in Tauranga - my old uni flat mate lives there, hadn't seen him for 25 years! The Kiwis weren't happy getting stuffed by the Springboks! Good to hear you are now HoD History. I'm still Head Of Geography - starting year 31 of teaching this September. It gets harder every year.............good job it's a good school. Can't wait to retire...............still got at least 3 years to wait for that though - probably longer. Where exactly do you work then?- I'm a geography teacher I'll find it on the map. Saints season has collapsed Too many injuries & age catching up with them so I'm told.

I come on here every now and again. I'm also on the rugby league international scores forum/website. I think kier or rus might be on there as well. Might go and have a look at that one. I've been to NZ twice - back in the 90s, 91 & 94 to be precise. Took two school groups there. Had a great time, in the South Island. Maybe when I retire I'll take the wife and do a leisurely student freedrive around NZ. As for the ru wwell at least they did better than Aus. We're in a rebuilding phase, but at least we beat the Springboks the last time we played them. Game on against NZ this weekend so maybe the Wallabies might go out on a win. Did you hear the ARU sacked Loti tuquiri - after numerous breaches the one that got him appears to have been having a woman in his room. {quote]Good to hear you are now HoD History. Can't wait to retire...............still got at least 3 years to wait for that though - probably longer.[/quote] I'm in my 33rd year -26 of which have been full time. Spent two years OS in 79 and 80 bringing Aus culture to distant lands like India, Germany, Turkey Europe etc etc. I was in a good school but after 22 years there had had enough. Who'd have thought I'd get the first promotion job I went for. So here to my family's astonishment in sunny Leeton we now live. I've got 4 - 5 years left. We have a scheme here whereyou can work for 4 years for 20% less (I think) and you get the 5th year off on full pay. I'm investigating that one at the moment - seems a good way to end one's career, if I can afford it. Being a devoted St George supporter I've had a good year - they finished first as minor premiers. Unfortunately they lost their semifinal so they have a sudden death semi now up in Brisbane against the Broncos. Rus will probably be there. Cheers, bas

Wow, Leeton IS the back of beyond. Is it all wheat or sheep farms out there with open bush? Nearest I've been to there is probably Ballarat. Must be a bit different from the coast - Nelson Bay wasn't it?
You can get out of teaching over here at 55 but you don't get the full pension. I'm 53 later this year so I'll see how I'm fixed financially in a couple of years.
What do you reckon to Argentina joining the tri-nations?

Not a good weekend eh Baz? As a St George fan I am well used to finals failures. I think the problem they had this year is twofold: i. Peaked too early during the season. Ended up losing 5 out of their six last games. ii. Attack too one dimensional. Once other teams worked out how they were doing it they came unstuck - no plan B apparently. They also need to find a centre who can penetrate opposing defences. A completely gutless performance by the Wallabies. Too inept to even talk about! The game has become completely boring compared to league I'm afraid. Need to get rid somehow of all the penalty kicks. Was the St George gameon tele there?

Union has always been full of penalties!!!!
No the St George game wasn't on tv over here - well not that I'm aware anyway. Might show the highlights next week I suppose.
Saints beat Huddersfield tonight 15-2 so get a week off now - got a monkey off their backs tonight after the cup semi-final!
I see St Kilda are in the AFL final - I got a t-shirt of theirs when I was in Melbourne 8 years ago. I hope they go all the way!

G'day gents. Good to see some action on the site again.
Commiserations of the StG results baz - at least you didn't have a season of disappointment like us Warriors fans.
On the plus side - I now am co-owner of my village pub and the proud father of two children (with a third due in Dec).

At least 3 of us are still alive. Was up One Tree Hill in the summer. That stadium I could see nearby is that where the Warriors play?

I believe so - my knowledge of Auckland geography is pretty poor though. I'd say you've probably spent more time there than I have!
