Good to see our Dazza keeping the pakis honest, or trying to. Will be interesting to see how the ICC handle the matter.

I think we shoud wait and see the actual proof of the ball tampering. Regards The remark about the Pakistanis in my original quote was just a dig. I presume a referee of Hair's experience would get it right - at least I hope for his sake. It will be interesting to see how it all pans out.

There is not a great deal of love here for Daryll Hair, so you must take this from where it comes however...
On the radio yesterday, it was reported that of the twenty odd cameras monitoring the match, not one picked up any ball tampering. It was also pointed out that the ball had been smacked into the concrete on several occasions.
What was it that the Sri Lankan coach (who was BTW an Aussie) said? Was it that he just wanted to play the Aussies on a neutral field with neutral umpires?
Seems that Mel Gibson, and Dean Jones are also not doing much to promote the "Lucky Country"

There is not a great deal of love here for Daryll Hair, Why - what's he done but tell the world what we already know - that Murali is a chucker??? In which case he would be wrong & chucked out - what did the other ump have to say about all of this BTW?

Bas...the other umpire agreed with Hair that the ball had been tampered with.
Pakis are acting like spoilt little kids. They could have played on and then taken the issue up with the Match Referee...but no...they spat the dummy.

"Here" is actually South Africa not Sri Lanka, but our antipathy goes back several years to what were seen as extremely biased decisions against us. There was even a (not too complementary) song composed about Daryll Hair.
If you look objectively at who holds sway in world cricket, I think that you have to admit that it is the "white" nations, particularly England and Oz. You may feel that Murali is a chucker, but there are plenty who disagree with you. The interesting thing about that issue when it started was that it was brought out when he was doing good work against the Aussies.

There was even a (not too complementary) song composed about Daryll Hair. Yes well I'm sure most cricketing nations could produce similar points of view about favourite/unpopular umpires. Aahha, a conspiracy. Actually Murali's action was raised here before he ever played aus. I think I could pretty safely say that he would have been in serious trouble here because of his action if he was an aussie. Something in the rules about bowling with a straight arm action I believe.
